Homeschooling

I would like to share some books and a website that are quite useful. I have read these books through the process of designing the homeschool curriculum for my son. These resources have much information and sort out any doubts you may have about homeschooling.

The Homeschooling Handbook, 2nd Edition

"The Homeschooling Handbook" by Mary Griffith
This book is very informative, written in an easy-to-read format. The book covers everything you need to know: legal stuff, record keeping, learning resources, getting started, money matters, learning resources, homeschooling community and much more. It also provides information on rough spots and learning/physical disabilities.

Home Learning Year by Year: How to Design a Homeschool Curriculum from Preschool Through High School
"Home Learning Year by Year" by Rebecca Rupp.
I found this book very helpful when planning my curriculum year. The author gives a general idea of areas to cover for each grade level and lists many excellent homeschooling books and curriculum for each grade.

Illinois HOUSE is a statewide network of support groups for people involved in homeschooling.

Hope this information will be useful for you. Thanks.
